Perhaps you’ve seen on our website of services, that we offer a treatment called MyoSure. If you know, you know…but most people probably don’t know what MyoSure is.
MyoSure is a device that is used to remove polyps, fibroids and uterine tissue that can cause some women problems. It is a procedure with minimal involvement and in some cases, is an alternative treatment to a hysterectomy. While it isn’t for everyone, it can be a real blessing to the women who are able to take advantage of the technology.
Those women who do qualify for a hysteroscopic myomectomy, fibroids and polyps can be removed as an outpatient procedure, in order to remedy long and painful periods. One of our doctors will insert a hysteroscope into the vagina which allows them to see where the abnormal tissue is and any polyps. The Myosure is then inserted, in order to remove the tissue. It’s a procedure that takes no time at all, and recovery is quick and relatively easy.
Side effects of the procedure are minimal. Some women may feel mild cramping and discomfort, nausea or vomiting. Resting for a few days before resuming activities is important.
